Good news for fans of Batman who cannot get enough of LEGO Batman, especially the Batmobile. LEGO has just added a new set inspired by Tim Burton’s Batman Returns (1992, Warner Bros.).
Joining the Joker Chase set is the LEGO DC Batman Returns Batmobile & Duck (67008), a 672-piece set featuring the hero’s Batmobile from the film and The Penguin’s Duck-mobile. The set lets kids (or maybe just you) recreate the high-speed chase scenes from the fan-favorite film Batman Returns.
The Batmobile here not only has an opening cockpit designed to seat the included Batman minifigure, but it can also transform into its narrow Batmissile mode, recreating the scene where Batman sheds the outer sides of the car to make it thinner to pass through a narrow space between buildings.
Obviously, this version of the Batmissile is a lot simpler, but I’d say it is a solid alternative for those who do not want to spend over two hundred dollars for the made-for-AFOLs set. Anyhoo, the Batmobile measures over 7.5 inches (20 cm) long and 2 inches (5 cm) tall.
The set also lets you build the film’s villain’s questionable choice of transportation, the Duck-mobile. When completed, this 11 cm (4.5 inches) long and 11 cm (4 inches) high Duck vehicle boasts posable wings and a posable head, and has space for the included The Penguin minifigure to stand inside with an umbrella in hand.
In addition to the tangible building toys, the LEGO DC Batman Returns Batmobile & Duck (67008) offers a digital way to enjoy the Batman lore. The set comes with digital unlockable features, allowing you to redeem the Golden Red Brick to add a gold effect to your characters and vehicles in the video game LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Just scan the QR code on the building instructions and follow the directions.
Moreover, there’s a Bonus Unlock where you can redeem the gold version of the Batman Returns Batmobile Batcave Prop in-game. Obviously, you will need to own a copy of the game to be able to get the digital freebies.
The LEGO DC Batman Returns Batmobile & Duck (67008) is set to drop on January 01, 2027, for US$59.99.
