Ever since the release of LEGO Thor’s Mjolnir and LEGO Infinity Gauntlet, we have been half expecting a Captain America’s shield to come along and well, it did! Well, albeit a little overdue. Folks, meet the first-ever brick-built Captain America’s shield, the LEGO Marvel Captain America’s Shield (76262).
It must have been quite a feat to design given how many support structures it needs to sustain a shield form while maintaining a relatively low profile – even if it is not expected to be used like an actual shield. The LEGO Marvel Captain America’s Shield (76262) is a build-and-display set, which comes complete with a brick-built stand with a nameplate and a Captain America minifigure.
It is a massive set, containing a whopping 3,128 pieces and when completed, the shield measures a cool 47 cm (about 18.5 inches) in diameter. And so no. It is not quite life-size but it is impressive nonetheless. There’s really nothing much to say about this ultimate collectible; it is just an awesome collectible.
