There’s something special about brick-built stuff. Especially when it looks like a model without packing in a lot of elements. The LEGO MOC Mercedes-Benz Sprinter by Dutch AFOL Nard Verbong, a.k.a. NV Carmocs (@nv_carmocs), is one such build.
Nard has countless LEGO MOCs under his belt, but this 483-piece build stood out because it ain’t a sports car. It’s a van, which is kind of refreshing and hence deserves our attention. I could be biased, though, as I am drawn to both the Mercedes-Benz Unimog and Sprinter.
It was originally created as a parting gift for the Dutch AFOL’s company when he was leaving for another job. Nard thought it was a fitting memento from him, as his now-former company uses Mercedes-Benz Sprinters for transport.
Like the LEGO MOCs by Mihail Rakovskiy, the LEGO MOC Mercedes-Benz Sprinter may be tiny, but it is not lacking in minute details. There’s the cab air deflector, the signature sloping hood with the trademark grille, and a cargo box with an opening clamshell tailgate and a side swing door.
The cargo area is functional, so you can fit some tiny brick-built cargo inside. Oh, it has a proper interior, too, complete with a steering wheel and seats for two minifigs. That’s right. It’s minifig scale! Like, how cool is that?
Now for the good news. If you are enamored, Nard has made the instructions available through Rebrickable, where you can purchase them and build your own. You will have to supply your own bricks, obviously.
