Can you imagine a company have sold 100 million units of a particular line of laptop? Well, we certainly can’t and that’s how many ThinkPad Lenovo has shipped, btw, which obviously calls for a celebration. To mark this occasion the Chinese PC maker is debuting the latest generation ThinkPad X1 Carbon, which is touted as the world’s lightest 14-inch performance ultrabook. This third-generation “state-of-the-art” X1 carbon laptop is powered by 5th-generation Intel Core processors (aka Broadwell) and is equipped with up to WQHD display, coupled with a PCIe solid state drive (up to 512GB) that offers up to 80 percent faster storage performance over the standard SSDs. It also boast an even longer battery life (up to 10.9 hours, Lenovo said) and the entire machine is clad in a beautiful, rugged carbon-forged chassis.
All told, the newest ThinkPad X1 Carbon tips the scale a scant 2.9 lbs (or 1.31 kg). Other worthy mentions include Intel HD GT2 graphics, up to 8GB DDR3 RAM, Dolby Advanced Audio V4, backlit keyboard, a 720p camera, plus the usual connectivity like Bluetooth, WiFi, HDMI and more. It will of course, be loaded with chockfull of business software to tickles the fancy of business user and is set to go on sale this month, starting at $1,249. If you are those who demands more out of Lenovo signature black boxes, there are also other ThinkPad models coming along that offers even more performance such as one with 3K display and Intel’s 3D RealSense camera.
