Razer Unveiled Razer Blade 15 Advanced With The World’s First Optical Laptop Keyboard

Razer Blade 15 with Optical Keyboard

You really have to be a pro gamer or a keyboard connoisseur to be concerned about how your keyboard performs. If you are either, Razer Blade 15 with Optical Laptop Keyboard is for you.

Optical keyboard isn’t new, but it is the first time to be implemented in a laptop (I think?). Here’s how it works:

“The new optical laptop switch harnesses the power of light to instantly capture key actuations. Under every key, an infrared light beam is used to detect when a key is pressed (actuation), allowing for much greater precision and speed versus conventional laptop keyboards. The result is a groundbreaking keyboard with an actuation point of only 1mm at 55g of actuation force with 50% more travel, allowing players to input more commands in less time in the heat of battle. ”

As for the gaming laptop itself, it features a custom calibrated 15.6-inch FHD 240 Hz display, ultra-slim bezels, Intel Core i7-9750H 6-Core processor, 16 GB DDR4 RAM, 512 GB SSD storage, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 GPU, and a host of I/Os including a HDMI port, a mini display port, a Thunderbolt 3 USB Type-C port, a USB Type-C port, and a pair of USB-Type-A Gen-2 ports.

If you are down, you will want to know that the new optical laptop keyboard is currently only available in the Razer Blade 15 Advanced and it commands a hefty $2,649. More models with the optical laptop keyboard will be available come 2020.

The Razer Blade 15 with optical keyboard will be available today from razer.com and select retailers in the U.S., Canada, and China and it will be available soon to Australia, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
