I almost thought the Xperia 10 VII was not going to show up this year. Last year, the 10 VI was announced in May along with the flagship Xperia 1 VI. But it was nowhere to be seen when the Xperia 1 VII dropped in May. Anyhoo, it did show up, albeit a few months late. Folks, meet the new Sony Xperia 10 VII.
Even before we pry under the hood, you may have noticed it had a little nip and tuck. It still rocks that tall, oblong look the Xperia line is married to, but the subtle camera bump now mimics a la–Pixel 9/10 vibe.
Sony says it reimagined the 10 Series, which in plain English means it gave it a fresh coat of paint and some genuinely useful upgrades. Chief among them is the return of the dedicated shutter button, so you can whip out shots even with the screen locked—like it’s 2012 again. The rear shooters include a 16 mm ultra-wide, a 24 mm wide with a larger 1/1.56-inch sensor, and a 48 mm zoom. Bigger sensors mean better low-light snaps, so you might finally capture that moody ramen bowl shot without it looking like a cave painting.
Under the hood, the 10 VII runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 with smoother performance and a two-day 5,000 mAh battery (with adaptive charging so it doesn’t die after two years). The 6.1-inch OLED display now stretches to 19.5:9 with a 120 Hz refresh rate, paired with front-facing stereo speakers that actually pump out richer bass.
The handset weighs just 168 g, comes in White, Turquoise, or Charcoal Black, and is wrapped in Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Available September 2025 for £399/€449.
