When Disney bought Lucasfilm, which includes the Star Wars franchise, it was not only for what the franchise had already established. It wanted to expand (read: milk) it and bring in more money. And it did with several series and movies. Speaking of movies, if you haven’t already heard, a new film, Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, is coming soon.
Pedro Pascal is back under the helmet in the first official trailer, and yes, the Clan of Two is officially going big-screen. This is no longer just a streaming side quest. It is a full-on IMAX-worthy adventure, well, that’s if you are a fan of the series. If you are not, then move along, there’s nothing to see here. Also, if you are a fan but hate spoilers, turn back now. You have been warned.
Anyhoo… the trailer wastes no time reminding us that while the Empire has fallen, the galaxy is still a mess. Imperial warlords are lurking, the New Republic is trying to look competent, and who do they call? A legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter and his tiny, Force-wielding apprentice, obviously.
We get Hutts (including a very pumped one). We get alien fry cooks voiced by Martin Scorsese, because why not? Sigourney Weaver shows up as Colonel Ward. Jeremy Allen White voices Rotta the Hutt. Zeb Orrelios is flying for the New Republic. There is a Kyuzo bounty hunter, Anzellans, and yes, Mando unmasked, which should keep Reddit busy for weeks.
An all-new poster featuring the Clan of Two dropped alongside the trailer, just in case anyone forgot who the real stars are.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu opens exclusively in theaters, filmed for IMAX, on May 22, 2026. Grogu has officially graduated to movie star. Meanwhile, scroll down for the said official trailer.
