As part of the Transformers 40th anniversary celebration honoring the franchise’s 1984 debut, Hasbro is bringing the original animated TV series to the big screen this May for a special three-day event titled “TIL ALL ARE ONE: TRANSFORMERS 40TH ANNIVERSARY EVENT.”
Rather than a feature film, this limited theatrical experience returns fans to where it all began with a screening of the 1984 pilot episode (More Than Meets the Eye, Part 1) paired with an exclusive split-screen table read featuring original voice actors revisiting their roles. The screening will also include the next three classic episodes from Series 1 alongside a sneak peek at Transformers: EarthSpark.
“For millennia, the heroic Autobots, led by Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen), have been at war with the evil Decepticons, led by Megatron (Frank Welker). As the battle between the Autobots and Decepticons rages on Earth, an even greater threat looms. Unicron (Orson Welles, Citizen Kane), a colossal converting planet who consumes everything in his path, is heading for Cybertron to devour the Transformers homeworld and wipe the Autobots and Decepticons from existence. The only hope is the Autobot Matrix of Leadership. With new enemies hunting them down and dangers lurking in every corner of the galaxy, the Autobots take on a perilous mission to save their planet that will alter their destiny forever.”
Tickets will be available for purchase later next month (August) from the Fathom Events website and from participating cinemas’ box offices.
