Huawei Watch Buds: It Is A Smartwatch And Also A TWS Earbuds

Huawei Watch Buds Smartwatch

With GPS tracking on smartwatches, you can leave your phone at home when you go for a run and also enjoy music when doing so. But where do you keep your earbuds when you don’t need them? Airband has a brilliant solution for Apple Watch users. That’s a third-party’s solution. Meanwhile, Huawei decided to pack a pair of TWS earbuds into a smartwatch, aptly called Huawei Watch Buds, thereby solving the issue of where to keep the earbuds.

Not only do the Huawei Watch Buds offer a place to hold the earbuds but also charge the earbuds. It is pretty much a pair of TWS earbuds but tells time. Wait a minute. That sounds kind of familiar… Anyhoo but it does so at the expense of a shorter overall watch battery life. Usually, the Huawei smartwatch will last for 7 days but the Huawei Watch Buds max out at 3.

Pressing the button featuring Clous de Paris on the case at the 6 o’clock position opens to reveal the earbuds. The same Clous de Paris can be found on the lone crown. It is worth noting that the “lid” does not open all the way when the button is pressed.

The lid will open at about 20-degree. After which you will give it a push to further open it to a 45-degree angle. At this point, pushing it further will open it completely to around a 70-degree angle. This is a thoughtful design to prevent accidentally opening it and sending the earbuds flying.

Though it will probably not because the earbuds are magnetically attached to the case. Moreover, the magnetic feature is non-directional. This means it will be attached to the case however you insert it. The “lid” has been tested 100,000 times of opening.

Another highlight of the bullet-style earbuds is that they are side neutral. It is only when you wear them, the gyroscope will assign the side. Whichever bud is in the left ear will be assigned the left and the one worn on the right will be the right. All it takes is just a nod. Active noise cancellation and pass-through come standard, btw.

As a smartwatch, the Huawei Watch Buds is everything you expect from a Huawei smart timepiece. This means, push notifications, fitness tracking, heart rate monitoring, blood-oxygen monitoring, and more.

Huawei Watch Buds smartwatch/TWS earbuds hybrid was a couple of days ago in China where it is now available to order for 2,988 yuan which is equivalent to about US$428 based on the current going rate.
