LEGO Gundam By Legotruman Achieved 10,000 Supporters On LEGO Ideas!

LEGO Gundam on LEGO Ideas by legotruman

The era of LEGO mecha is here. Following LEGO Voltron and LEGO Optimus Prime, another iconic Japanese giant mecha – Gundam– may have a shot at being immortalized by the world’s most popular plastic brick. And fans of Mobile Suit Gundam have LEGO enthusiast legotruman to thank. Legotruman is known for many sets most notably the LEGO Ideas The Starry Night set.

Legotruman’s latest LEGO Ideas submission to garner 10,000 supporters is the LEGO Gundam, This means it qualifies for the LEGO panel for the first 2024 review. Legotruman’s LEGO Gundam is based on the OG Gundam, the iconic RX-78-2.

It is the most recognizable Gundams of all. legotruman’s proposed set is massive. Though the number of pieces was not revealed, the model towers at an impressive 46 cm (18 inches) tall, 24 cm (9.4 inches) wide, and tips the scales at 1.25 kilograms (2.8 pounds).

The model will have some form of posability, thanks to the 22 articulations which included the fingers. Rounding up the model is the mecha’s signature beam saber, beam rifle, and the iconic red shield.

While I am glad that this set achieved 10,000 supporters, I am a little skeptical if LEGO is willing to secure this huge IP which can be quite expensive. But I could be wrong.

Anyways, we shall all keep our fingers crossed, yeah?
