Ever played SimCity? If you have, and you love LEGO, you’ve probably wondered at some point: wouldn’t a LEGO version be amazing? LEGO Skylines by Paradox Interactive isn’t officially LEGO SimCity, but it is essentially LEGO’s answer to the classic sandbox city-builder.
You get to play mayor of a digital LEGO metropolis. Your job is to balance power grids, lay out road networks, and zone neighborhoods, all while trying not to drop a giant industrial power plant directly onto a minifigure’s beach house.
When a local deli catches fire, tiny brick-built fire engines race to the scene while frantic residents wave their claw hands. Fixing a housing crisis here doesn’t require complex urban policy either; you simply snap entire modular apartment blocks onto the grid.
The game takes the city-building mechanics of Cities: Skylines and gives them a LEGO makeover. You can build a pristine utopia or a gridlocked municipal nightmare. Either way, at least you won’t step on a rogue 2×4 brick while inspecting your city. Who knows? It might even inspire your next LEGO Ideas submission.
LEGO Skylines will be available for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Pricing and a release date have not been revealed.
