Two new models have joined the Mattel Brick Shop, but they are not surprisingly sold out. But not all hopes are lost; we will tell you where you can still pre-order them in a bit. So yeah, Mattel Brick Shop has dropped two new models: the Mattel Brick Shop Hot Wheels ’15 Audi R8 LMS and ’94 Audi Avant RS2.
The R8 LMS is a proper beast in 1:16 scale, which makes it big enough to double as a table centerpiece if you’re bold. It comes with authentic racecar details like a drag-inspired setup, a real steering wheel, and opening doors. For customization nerds, it includes decals, two sets of wheel covers, and, as a cherry on top, a matching 1:64 scale die-cast and a shiny metal signature plate. The set goes for US$54. Not that it matters.
Then there’s the ’94 Audi Avant RS2. At 1:32 scale, it’s more palm-sized than table hog, but no less charming. The estate build has four opening doors, twin exhaust pipes, and the same customization bits as its bigger sibling: decals, swappable wheel covers, and a matching 1:64 metal car with signature plate. This one goes for US$22. Again, not that it matters.
Both sets are part of Mattel Brick Shop’s push to make block-building cool again, while being conveniently compatible with other “name brands.” Which is code for: yes, they’ll slot in with that big Scandinavian brick empire.
