Mattel’s Mega Is Serving Up A Brick Built Tesla Cybertruck With Over 3,000 Pieces

MEGA Construx Tesla Cybertruck Building Set

With three RC trucks based on Tesla Cybertruck (of one which we have recently reviewed) and a 1/64th scale die-cast model, it is clear that the team over at Mattel is obsessed over Tesla’s futuristic electric utility truck. And it is not quite done with it yet.

Where LEGO Ideas have failed to green-light a brick-built Tesla Cybertruck, Mattel-owned Mega has announced a brick-built Cybertruck. Billed as a display-worthy model of the new Cybertruck, the Mega x Cybertruck is not just a buildable model of the much talked about electric pickup truck; it is be customized as you build to reveal different hidden features.

Expect to find a functional tonneau cover, opening tailgate, adjustable air suspension, and the infamous shattered armor glass windows, along with a detailed interior with a GPS system, a mini Tesla water bottle, and license plate.

All told, Mega x Cybertruck packs 3,283 pieces and when completed, measures a shelf space demanding 19.7 inches (50 cm) long, 7.5 inches (19 cm) wide, and 6.7 inches (17 cm) wide.

Now that we think about it, the MEGA Construx Tesla Cybertruck may be the reason why the LEGO Ideas submission wasn’t green-lit.

The Mega x Cybertruck building set will be available on October 15, 2021, at 9 AM PT, for US$250, on creations.mattel.com. Recommended for ages 14 and up.

I have a bad premonition that the set will fly off the shelves. And if you are worried like me, you can order, albeit at a premium of US$350, from Highsnobiety Shop, later today at 9 AM (EDT).
