Meizu StarV View AR Smart Glasses: Smartphone Required To Function

Meizu StarV View AR Smart Glasses

The Meizu StarV View AR Smart Glasses are your new personal 3D MAX cinema. Picture a 6-meter-wide (20′), 188-inch display floating in front of you, turning even your couch into a prime movie seat—that’s what this little big guy is all about. With retina-grade clarity, even the tiniest subtitles stay crisp. Add 700 nits of brightness and a sRGB color palette, and you’ve got colors so rich, they’ll make your phone screen look like it’s from the ’90s.

Meanwhile, in the audio department, it’s like vinyl for your face. Thanks to the “Golden Ear” standard and custom speaker chambers, the highs are sweet, the mids are accurate, and the bass? Deep enough to rattle your soul, or at least your nose. Weighing just 74g (2.6 oz.), these glasses won’t feel like a headpiece from a sci-fi movie, even after hours of streaming. Plus, with adjustable nearsightedness from 0 to 600 degrees, you can ditch those extra lenses.

FlymeXR 2.0 keeps things smooth, making sure you’re only disturbed when you want to be. It handles 3DoF spatial positioning like a champ, so your view remains steady even if you nod off. Gamers can enjoy a silky 120 Hz refresh rate and a 100,000:1 contrast ratio for those extra fiery explosions. Whether you’re inside or outdoors, with brightness levels fit for both, your screen remains as dazzling as ever.

But there’s a catch here. Like most so-called AR Glasses, it is not a full-fledged AR Glasses like the recently revealed Meta Orion. It does require your smartphone to function.

That “catch” aside, these glasses bring big-screen entertainment wherever you are, making tiny screens seem like a joke. The price? Well, all these for just 2,799 yuan (which is approximately US$399) but folks in China who made full payment pre-orders can secure a unit at a discounted pre-order price of 2,499 yuan (around US$356).
