LEGO Extends Playability Of Its LEGO Sets With Augmented Reality

Kids get bored with toys fairly quickly. That is an inevitable fact that LEGO prefer not to happen and hence, the LEGO AR Playgrounds iOS App. AR here is, of course, augmented reality. Leveraging on Apple’s ARKit technology to detect a real physical LEGO set, bringing it to life with special effects, animations, and interactive games. I foresee kids will get all ga-ga over this because, the entire thing will be played in a familiar place like the living or room while incorporating their very own LEGO set they own. I know I will for sure, except that I am not a huge fan of Ninjago. Continue reading LEGO Extends Playability Of Its LEGO Sets With Augmented Reality

Magic Leap One Mixed Reality Goggles Is Set To Available Sometime In 2018

After years in the making, the much anticipated mixed reality device, Magic Leap One, is finally going to be available soon – in 2018, but only to developers first. I guess at least it is a start. The setup include a somewhat steampunk-ish goggles (the headset), a controller called, well, ‘control’, and a small, waist-worn hardware unit (the brain). The goggles will be customizable to the wearer’s face and it would likely support prescription lenses for the benefit of those who have myopia. A.R. Globe Makes Learning About The World Fun And Interactive For Kids

Digital age has relegate the good’ol globe to decorative piece. I mean, who the hell need a physical globe when Google Earth is just a few clicks away? But that’s for information hungry grownups. As for kids, learning from Google Earth about the Earth itself won’t be much of a fun. Learning is different from digging for information. Learning is what kids do, and it should be fun, and this is where PlayShifu wants to do with Orboot Educational Augmented Reality Globe. Even a grown man like me gets excited about a mash up of a physical globe and AR (which is essentially what the Orboot Educational Augmented Reality Globe is really about). Continue reading A.R.
