Well, what do you know? Oppo is still at it. I am talking about the development of Smart Glasses. This time round, its third iteration of the Air Glass, aptly referred to as Oppo Air Glass 3, benefits from Artificial Intelligence. Well, that was kind of expected, wasn’t it?
Oppo unveiled Oppo Air Glass 3, a new generation of lightweight assisted reality glasses, at MWC 2024, offering an advanced AI experience via Oppo’s AndesGPT. To put it simply, it is having ChatGPT baked into the eyewear that will allow you to discreetly get information on a wide range of topics. Except what’s powering the Air Glass 3 Concept is not ChatGPT; it is Oppo’s very own AndesGPT.
Still on the topic of AI… the company also introduced its Oppo AI Center, aiming to centralize its AI research and development efforts. Oppo’s collaborations with Qualcomm, AlpsenTek, and others highlight their focus on AI-driven improvements in photography/videography and smartphone connectivity, including a partnership with Microsoft for Copilot integration.
The Air Glass 3 prototype is notable for its lightweight, high-quality display, and innovative features like reverse sound field technology for improved audio and privacy.
Oppo’s commitment to AI is further emphasized by its AI Smartphone White Paper [PDF], which predicts a shift towards AI smartphones, enhancing user experiences and fostering an AI ecosystem through collaboration across the tech industry.
