Monument Concrete MagSafe Charger Stand By The Artifox: Do We Need To Say More?

Monument Concrete MagSafe Charger Stand by The Artifox

It has been a while since we saw any cool concrete-based everyday objects. No. I am talking about houses. We are talking about crazy everyday things that go inside the house like power supplies, basins, valet trays, faucets, and more. Even if you already own some of the aforementioned concrete products, you’d probably lack a charging stand crafted out of cement. Well, fret not because The Artifox has you covered with the Monument.

The Monument is a concrete MagSafe charger stand—MagSafe charger NOT included, obviously—that lets you add a piece of brutalist architecture on Earth and Arrakis (that’s the fictional desert planet featured in the Dune series, for the uninitiated) to your tabletop. It is crafted out of solid cement (or solidified cement), and features sculpted details in a traditional building material which gives it a raw and yet strangely futuristic vibe.

Since it uses your MagSafe charger, it will work with MagSafe iPhone cases and allows for both portrait and landscape orientation. Being a concrete object, it has an obvious boon—it is hefty, and therefore offers stability. It weighs in at a thin and light laptop-equivalent 2 lb 8 oz (or about 1.1 kilogram).

I know what some folks are thinking. Wouldn’t it scratch the phone or your beautiful tabletop? Well, for the latter, the felt-padded bottom ensures the surface it is on is cared for. As for the phone, the charging puck appears to be slightly raised. It should be quite safe. I guess? The only con I see is the fixed viewing angle of 75°.

The product measures 2.7 inches wide, 3.4 inches deep, and 6 inches tall (about 6.9 x 8.6 x 15.2 centimeters). And oh, it is made in the good old US of A. The Monument can be had in a choice of charcoal or natural finish, for US$90. I don’t believe it ships outside of the USA, though which is unfortunate for the concrete-loving me.
