NERF is back with a foam dart-shooting pop culture replica. This time, Star Trek’s Starfleet Type 3 and Type 2 are turned into NERF blasters. The NERF LMTD Star Trek Starfleet Type 3 And Type 2 Phaser Blasters, being sold as a set of two, are here in time for the 35th anniversary of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Both the NERF LMTD Star Trek Starfleet Type 3 And Type 2 Phaser Blasters captured the look of the respective phasers as they appeared in the TV show.
Type 2 is a single-shot blaster with a pull-back priming handle and launches at the press of a button. The Type 2 Phaser, on the other hand, is a motorized dart blaster that fires 5 foam darts in a row from an internal 5-dart clip.
The Type 2 Phaser Blaster further features light-up effects that simulate the look of being assimilated by the Borg as a homage to the film, Star Trek: First Contact. The blaster further boasts phaser sounds and authentic First Contact movie sounds.
The blasters are presented in premium packaging that is good for display and includes 7 foam NERF Elite darts. The motorized Phaser blaster is powered by 4x 1.5v AA cells which are not included.
The NERF LMTD Star Trek Starfleet Type 3 And Type 2 Phaser Blasters Set is available for pre-order, priced at US$119.99, from Hasbro Pulse. Pre-orders have to be done by October 02, 2022, with delivery slated to start on November 24, 2023. Note the year there. It’s 2023 which, if you ask me, is a ridiculously long wait for a toy. I sure hope it is a typo.
