Lets face it. However you try to up the firepower of your NERF guns, nothing will ever beat the barrage of Rival foam balls like a minigun does. Mini, what? Yes. You freaking heard that loud and clear. A NERF minigun. Obviously, Hasbro did not and probably will never roll out a NERF version Gatling gun, but someone actually did and that one person is YouTuber Captain Xavier. With the help of a few YouTubers, Captain Xavier has DIY-ed a NERF Rival Minigun that looks as good as it functions. Yes. Working Steam-powered NERF Gun May Be Good For Steaming Clothes Too

Fascinated by steampunk culture? Like duh.. who doesn’t right? Fantasy aside, have you ever thought about if steam-powered devices are actually practical in real life? I mean, seriously, the time it takes for steam to muster enough power to execute a task or two, it will take need a lot of heat and time. Having said that, steampunk is probably a fantasy best left to anime and movie adaption of Around the World in 80 Days. It is hardly practical, but that does not stop garage inventor, tinkerer and YouTuber Peter Sripol from creating a steam-powered NERF Gun. This Face Recognition NERF Blaster Identifies Target Before Shooting

While most grown ups continue to enjoy NERF toys as they are, some took it to the next level with mods. Mods are cool which makes the whole NERF experience a little more, how do you say? Intimate? Something like that. I did some myself to a good’ol Maverick Rev-6, but they are just basics. In fact, many mods are because there’s really this much you can do with a stock NERF blaster. But leave it to the geeks and you will see some pretty dope high-tech mods like the NERF Vulcan Sentry Gun some years ago. Sentry, as the name suggests, is a NERF robotic guard that protects your fort autonomously. It was good and all, except that it could not differentiate between friends from foes. The Raspberry Pi-powered NERF Blaster you see here, however, can. Continue reading This Face Recognition NERF Blaster Identifies Target Before Shooting

Mandalorian Edition NERF Blaster Is A Pricey Way Of Battling As Boba Fett

Now, this is something that should have been done for a long time, but I guess it is better late than never. What you got here is a NERF Rival Apollo XV-700 Blaster-inspired by the intergalactic bounty hunter Boba Fett, specifically, from the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront II video game. Produced by U.S. video game chain, GameStop, this special edition NERF blaster comes draped in the colors of the infamous mercenary’s armor and with appropriate ‘worn’ effects that makes the otherwise run-of-the-mill NERF Rival Apollo XV-700 Blaster look strikingly different and if I may say so, a little more attractive. At least it is over the stock pinkish red and blue variety. Continue reading Mandalorian Edition NERF Blaster Is A Pricey Way Of Battling As Boba Fett

Adam Savage’s Custom NERF Rifle Is Full Of Sci-Fi Awesomeness

NERF blasters were never mean to look like real-life firearms, simply because they are toys. Despite so, they do have a sci-fi-ish asesthetic to them which makes them kind of realistic, well, in a sci-fi way. Unfortunately, this sci-fi kind of realistic look is marred by the bright colorways designed to lure kids and also, as per regulation, to prevent them from looking like real weapons (remember, even Airsoft has orange tip to mark them as toys). But that’s stock NERF we are talking about and beyond the shelves, there’s no stopping folks like Adam Savage from lending their magical touch to turn a stock NERF rifle into one that’s worthy of a sci-fi movie prop. NERF’s New Blasters Include An Anime-ish, Monstrous 30-Foam Dart Shooter

By now, we should be accustomed to NERF’s relentless pursuit to outdo itself. That said, it is no surprise that a 100-foam ball blaster and foam car-shooting blaster aren’t enough, cos’ the Hasbro brand is churning out more delightful blasters which the company will showcase at the upcoming New York Toy Fair, happening from February 18-21. One of the three notable blasters that will be unveiled is a jaw-dropping, monstrous (and somewhat anime-ish) blaster called The Judge. We are not sure if it is the judge, but with the fire power it has, it sure is an executioner. Continue reading NERF’s New Blasters Include An Anime-ish, Monstrous 30-Foam Dart Shooter

Hasbro Takes On Hot Wheels With Foam Car-shooting NERF Nitro Blasters

I am sure we are all quite familiar what NERF has to offer. This Hasbro’s line of blasters shoots foam darts, isn’t it? Well, about that, it is not quite true anymore because NERF’s diversification has lead to it shooting, wait for it… foam cars. Yes. Yes. NERF’s new line of blasters that is slated to hit the shelves worldwide in summer 2017 doesn’t shoot foam darts or balls. Instead it will spit out foam cars and thereby pulling a Hot Wheels kind of toy line but without the fancy, roller coast-style tracks. Hard to imagine? Well, it is really not hard to imagine. Just think of it as a Hot Wheels launch-able car, less the track and has the launcher in the likeness of a NERF foam blaster. Get it? Meet Mastodon, The Biggest Foam Dart-shooting NERF Blaster Ever

No. Mastodon is not a relative to the prehistoric shark, Megalodon. In fact, it is not even remotely related to any living things, ancient or not, much less to a shark. It is NERF’s biggest foam dart-shooting blaster to date, though technically, it is not the biggest NERF gun cos’ we already saw how big the biggest NERF Blaster was. But it is true that Mastodon is the biggest factory-produced blaster in NERF arsenal to date, stretching a nearly 3-feet (86 cm) long and weighing in as much as a laptop at 7.3 lbs (3.3 kg). Not only it is the biggest NERF blaster yet, but it is also the first motorized NERF Mega blaster, boasting a rotary magazine and powered by a motor that enables it to spit out 24 foam darts 100 feet (about 30 meters) downrange in under 20 seconds.
