In Evangelion, the Entry Plug is filled with a breathable liquid that will allow the pilot to sync with the EVA unit. The liquid, called LCL, is said to smell “like blood” which shouldn’t come as surprise since it is the blood of the Second Angel, Lilith. Ewwwww… I know right. It is kind of gross – thankfully, LCL is not part of the Prime 1 Studio Evangelion Entry Plug Interior Bonus Version (not that it exists).
There have been quite a number of merchandise based on the Entry Plug, including a super cool smartphone packaging, but I don’t believe there is one that shows off the interior in its entirety with the pilot like the Prime 1 Studio Evangelion Entry Plug Interior statue.
Crafted based on the control seat of Rei Ayanami and Asuka Shikinami Langley1 Eva units as seen in the Rebuild of Evangelion series or Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition, as it is known in Japan, the Prime 1 Studio Evangelion Entry Plug Interior is part of Prime 1 Studio’s Ultimate Premium Masterline Series. It is of 1:4 scale and towers at an impressive 26 inches (66 cm) tall.
Each statue faithfully recreates the control seat which is at an angle as it would be when inside the Eva unit. The entry plug interior is really quite a sight to behold. It is organic yet very mechanical at the same time. The interior is complete with the Eva unit’s respective pilots.
