Samsung Finally Has A New SmartTag And Here’s What You Should Know

Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 Bluetooth/UWB Tracker

Samsung Electronics has unveiled the Galaxy SmartTag2. This new addition to the Galaxy SmartTag series introduces improvements in design and functionality, offering users enhanced ways to keep track of their belongings.

The new Galaxy SmartTag2 inherited some of the best features of the SmartTag and SmartTag+ from two years ago with upgraded features and improvements. It combines Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and UWB technologies, using Augmented Reality (AR) Find to visually guide you to your items via your Samsung Galaxy smartphone camera.

Moreover, it works within a Bluetooth range of up to 120 meters (about 394 feet) and can control smart home devices through the SmartThings app. Think of it as your tech-savvy assistant, simplifying your life and making your devices work together seamlessly.

So, what’s new with the Galaxy SmartTag2?

1. Lost and Found Made Simple: If you ever lose something with a SmartTag2 attached, you can now leave your contact info on it. Anyone who finds it can use their phone to scan the tag and reach out to you. This is especially handy if you’ve attached a SmartTag2 to your pet’s collar; your phone number is always within reach.

2. Better Tracking: The SmartTag2 now gives you a more user-friendly experience with its improved Compass View feature. It shows you arrows pointing the way to your SmartTag2’s location, making it easier to find your stuff.

3. App Upgrade: The SmartThings Find app has gotten a facelift. It now installs a shortcut for new SmartTags, has a bigger map view, and a simpler interface. Plus, if you switch to a new Galaxy smartphone, your SmartTag2 automatically syncs up.

4. Battery for Days: You’ll enjoy longer battery life with the new Power Saving Mode. It extends the SmartTag2’s battery to a mind-blowing 700 days. Even in Normal Mode, it lasts for 500 days, so you can keep track of your things for a really long time.

5. Durable and Handy: The SmartTag2 is designed with ease of use in mind. It’s compact and ring-shaped, with a sturdy metal loop that can hold clips and keyrings. It’s also water and dust-resistant (IP67 rating), so it can handle outdoor adventures and your pet’s antics.

6. For Pet Lovers: There’s a new pet walking mode, perfect for logging those enjoyable walks with your furry friend.

7. Privacy and Security: Your privacy is safeguarded. Your location is only shared with your permission. And if someone tries to track you without your say-so, the “Unknown tag alerts” feature will notify you.

8. Works with SmartThings Station: The SmartTag2 easily connects with SmartThings Station. It acts like a home-based device scanner, helping you locate tagged items and keep tabs on your belongings.

In a nutshell, the Galaxy SmartTag2 is designed to simplify your life. Whether it’s keeping an eye on your stuff or your pets, this gadget has your back, all while prioritizing your privacy and security. The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 will go on sale globally on October 11 for US$29.99 a pop.
