Atari x Pac-Man: Waka-Waka-Wait, They Did What Now?

Atari x Pac-Man Collection

Do you like Pac-Man? Yes? Good. Do you want the new Atari 2600, but haven’t acted on it yet? Yes? Perfect, because this news is going to brighten your day. Pac-Man enthusiasts, please meet the Atari x Pac-Man Collection.

Celebrating the long history of collaboration between Atari and Pac-Man creator Bandai Namco, Atari has released a special Pac-Man-themed console along with some irresistible bundles. For those who don’t know, 43 years ago in 1982, Atari brought Pac-Man to home consoles for the first time with Pac-Man for the Atari 2600.

Fast forward to 2025, and Atari is reliving that romance—this time in glorious yellow. Say hello to the Atari 2600+ Pac-Man Edition (US$169.99), a retro-futuristic console dipped in Pac-Man yellow, adorned with glowing character icons, and bundled with a 2-in-1 game cartridge: the all-new Pac-Man 7800 and the OG Pac-Man 2600. That’s right, nostalgia is now HDMI-compatible.

You also get a Pac-Man Edition CX-40+ Wireless Joystick—also in Pac-Man yellow, complete with an image of the Pac-Man on top of the joystick, and the iconic yellow Pac-Dots circling it on the black circle. In addition, Atari has launched four Ghost Edition wireless joysticks, paying homage to the colors of the four ghosts.

Each Ghost Edition joystick also features the respective Ghost on top of the joystick. The Ghost Edition joysticks are available to buy separately for US$39.99 each. In event you already own an Atari 2600, you can choose to buy the Joystick bundle, which includes all four Ghost Edition joysticks and the Pac-Man joysticks for US$199.95

Not enough chomping? Grab the High Score Collection 7800 (also US$169.99), which includes arcade legends like Galaga, Dig Dug, Xevious, and of course, Pac-Man: Double Feature—all wrapped in colorful cartridges and collectible packaging. Bonus: each game includes a pin and a patch, so your jacket can join the retro party too.

Everything is compatible with the 2600+, 7800, and the CX40+ Joystick or CX78+ Gamepad. Pre-orders open July 23rd and ship in October 2025, which gives you just enough time to make space on your shelf—and maybe clear your calendar for some marathon munching.
