Mario, in his kart, is no longer a lonely plastic brick soul with a lone spiny shell. It will be joined by his younger brother, Luigi, in the iconic Mach 8 kart. Behold, folks, the first-ever large-scale Mach 8 Kart set is official! I believe it is also the first-ever brick-built Mach 8 kart.
The set includes a buildable Luigi figure with a posable head, arms, and hands, behind the wheel of his kart of choice, Mach 8. While you can place the completed model on the included buildable display stand at dynamic, race-ready angles to reenact a mid-race scene, the set is not relegated to being a build-and-display model.
It has some level of interactivity. You can play with it.
It has rolling wheels with rubber tires, and when pushed along, the rear wheels will spin the flame exhaust. And let’s not forget the working steering wheel that turns the front wheels.
All told, this latest Mario Kart set packs 2,234 pieces, and when completed, the model measures 25 cm tall, 41 cm long, and 23 cm wide (10 x 16 x 9 inches).
The LEGO Mario Kart Luigi & Mach 8 (72050) is available for pre-order for US$179.99, with availability starting April 01, 2026.
