If you didn’t already notice, yesterday was Mario Day. How? Or why? Well, March 10—or Mar 10—kind of looks like “MARIO” if you squint and use a little imagination. Anyhoo, LEGO used this unofficial holiday to declare kart freedom. Just kidding. They didn’t. But the Danish toymaker did reveal something exciting: the LEGO Mario Kart – Mario & Standard Kart (72037).

Part of the LEGO Super Mario collection (duh), 72037 is an incredibly detailed build-and-display model of the iconic go-kart used by everyone’s favorite plumber-turned-hero in the Mario Kart series. It’s just Mario’s Standard Kart—no power-ups, kite, or anything at all, and that’s totally fine cos this brick-built Mario isn’t exactly lining up for a Grand Prix. But it does come with a display stand that lets you tilt the kart at dynamic angles to, I guess, capture the “Look at me! I’m FAST!” vibe.
The set packs 1,972 pieces to recreate the Standard Kart and a posable Mario figure with a movable head and arms. Sadly, Mario doesn’t appear to dismount, which would be pretty cool. Fully built, the kart measures 32 cm long, 19 cm wide, and 22 cm tall (about 12.6 x 7.5 x 8.7 inches)—the perfect centerpiece for your Mario shrine, right alongside The Mighty Bowser, Super Mario World Mario & Yoshi, and the Piranha Plant.
The LEGO Mario Kart – Mario & Standard Kart (72037) launches on April 15, 2025, but if you can’t wait, pre-orders are live now at LEGO.com. The asking price? A go-kart-level intense US$169.99.
