Let us turn back the clock to last month and revisit an event in Taiwan where LG launched (it was not the first launch, btw) an interesting home appliance: an air purifier that is also a nifty coffee table. Now, an air purifier that doubles as a table or vice versa isn’t new but what’s new with the LG PuriCare AeroFurniture is that it is not just a 2-in-1 product; it is a 4-in-1 product.
It is a standalone air purifier, a coffee table, and it is also a wireless charger and a desk lamp, or more correctly, a mood light. In other words, it is a declutterer’s dream product and a product for folks who crave minimalism.
As an air purifier, it scrubs the air with its PuriCare 360° HEPA filter that is capable of eliminating up to 99.9% of air of airborne nasties like bacteria and ultrafine dust as small as 0.01 microns.
In addition, it boasts UVnano Technology that removes 99.99% of bacteria on fan blades, thereby ensuring the air in your home is squeaky clean. The air purifier has a clean air delivery rate (CADR) of 2.57 CMM (m3/min)/19.8 m2 and it operates at a noise level as low as 21 dB.
The air purifier has a PM 1.0 air quality detection and it offers five modes of operation: Auto, Low, Mid, High, and Sleep. Oh, if you haven’t already noticed, the stand of the table is where the air purifier is.
It is attached to a flat, round surface of 410 mm diameter, and on this surface, you will find a Qi wireless charging for charging your smartphone. Smartwatch charging is not supported, though.
Finally, there is the mood light which is presented as a ring light under the table. This mood light offers colorful ambient lighting choices, easily controlled with the press of a button or via the ThinQ app. And yes, this device is app-enabled too.
We do not find this gadget/furniture of convenience in North America. The LG PuriCare AeroFurniture, however, is available in Asia regions and countries like South Korea (429,000 Won), Japan (59,400 Yen), Singapore (S$499), and Taiwan (NT$13,900).
