Balenciaga Tape Bracelet: It Looks Like A Roll Of 3M Scotch Tape But More Expensive

Balenciaga Tape Bracelet from Fall/Winter 2024 Collection

Balenciaga is no stranger to controversial outfits and fashion accessories. The Spanish fashion powerhouse that wants you to wear a car mat and bath towel as skirts have also offered dirtied sneakers, garbage bag-inspired bags, and a luxury host clamp for your wrist. And if you think the host clamp bracelet is outrageous, wait till you hear about its latest fashion accessory: Balenciaga Tape Bracelet.

The Balenciaga Tape Bracelet, as the name implies, is a bracelet in the likeness of a roll of adhesive tape. It shares a similar size and aesthetic as a roll of 2-inch 3M Scotch clear adhesive tape. At a glance, you may think that it is a roll of 2-inch Scotch tape until you notice it is exceeding clear. Clear enough to let you see the Balenciaga underneath the “tape”.

The “tape” is obviously not actual adhesive; it is a hunk of clear material that is supposed to mimic a roll of tape. This controversial fashion accessory is part of the fashion label’s Fall/Winter 2024 which debuted at the Paris Fashion Week. So how much is for this luxe Scotch tape wannabe? Well, there are no official words yet. There was a report that said that some people claimed it would be priced around €3,000, which is around US$3,269.

In case you are new to this “shocking” fashion culture… let it be known it isn’t new as stated previously and Balenciaga is not alone in this turn-everyday-item-an-expensive-accessories movement. Tiffany is no stranger too. The jeweler had luxury “LEGO bricks” which can actually click together, a luxury tin can, and more.

Meanwhile, Louis Vuitton had a padlock and padlock key earrings, and while not as luxurious as the designer’s brand, AMBUSH has a bunch of jewelry inspired by everyday items like clothespins, ball chains, safety pins, and more. That’s right, folks. Such is the world we live in now 😆
