Winnebago, the recreation vehicle maker who is better known for crazy-sized RV that can’t go beyond paved roads, now has one that will delight fans of wilderness. Now, we do not want to question Winnebago’s experience here with regards to off-roading experience, but the spanking new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter-based Revel is quite a looker and it does look the part of the wild. Power comes from a stock 3L 6-pod Diesel motor, paired to a 5-speed automatic Tip Shift gearbox that sends 188 horses and 325 lb-ft of torque to an on-demand 4WD. In one episode of the National Geographic’s TV show, Supercar Megabuild, a Bentley Continental GT was ‘brutally’ put under the knife, turning it from a luxury road car into an apocalypse-worthy, luxury off-road vehicle. It was an act not all Bentley enthusiasts will condone and this being a Bentley, nobody would have fancy an off-road version anyways, unless, of course, it is an official factory example. Me, on the other hand, kind of love it, but I could be the minority and minor love it did get because, despite the 101 bids it has attracted when this one-of-a-kind ‘rally-spec’ Bentley Continental GT went on the block, it only managed to conclude with a £40,800 sticker (roughly US$55,000), which is lesser than an untouched Bentley Continental GT would have fetched. Electric skateboard is a dime a dozen today. There are so many manufacturers out there today that consumers are basically spoilt for choice. Hell, you can even cobble one together with a drill if you really want one on the budget. In other words, there aren’t really any breakthrough in electric skateboard development. I mean, a deck, four wheels with a motor or two can hardly be ‘breakthrough’, really. Sadly, skateboard isn’t spared from the monkey see, money do syndrome. The best you get are, oversized wheels for off-road skateboarding, but alas, the concept remains pretty much the same. But the Ungoverned Drifter you see here is a whole new ball game. If you are going to make a car in a ridiculously rich country where 80 percent of its landmass is desert, it only makes sense to make a supercar that can take on the sandy desert like a boss. The Zarooq SandRacer 500GT is one such coming from United Arab Emirates (UAE). Previously a concept, this crazy off-road capable sports car from the young and ambitious middle east sports car maker has reportedly commenced production. Not only that, it specifications to have been bumped up according to a report. The concept from two years ago had a V6, but in the production version, it gets a growling 6.2L V8 unit that kicks out 525 horses and 487 lb-ft (660 Nm) of torque. BMW has come together with premium trail bike maker SPECIALIZED to introduce a limited-run special edition of the bike maker’s Specialized Turbo Levo called SPECIALIZED for BMW Turbo Levo FSR 6Fattie. No doubt a marketing effort to promote German automaker’s new Sports Activity Vehicle, the new-generation X3, judging from its appearance in the various product images available to the press. Anyways, marketing talks aside, this e-mountain bike is clearly an exquisite, top-end item. Clever integration of the power module into the specially developed aluminum frame gave the bike a clean, regular bike look (but in an uber sleek way, of course). In mountainous regions like the Colombia’s Andes Region, folks still uses mule to haul goods not because they choose to, but because the treacherous terrains dictate that only animals are up to the task.
