The future of short-mid range travel is not by air. Elon Musk himself acknowledges this fact and even pitched the idea of Hyperloop system. China knew very well of this fact too which explains the country’s obsession with rail network with astounding speeds. The latest is this: a magnetic levitation (Maglev) train prototype unveiled by China state-owned China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) that is capable of topping out at 600 km/h (372 mph), almost doubling the current Beijing-Shanghai line’s top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph). An aerospace engineering team over at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) seems to think that passenger jet needs a radically different design. The team has came up with a somewhat odd-looking aircraft called Flying-V which, you may have already have guessed, is literally named after the aircraft’s shape. After all these years of dabbling in hybrid electric vehicle, Toyota is finally stepping into the electric vehicle market. The Japanese automaker had, in April, revealed two electric vehicles: C-HR and IZOA, calling them Battery Electric Vehicles, or BEVs. Fancy branding aside, they are still EVs, btw. And IZOA is essentially the C-HR, but locally made in China. Beyond the fact that the duo will be launched in China in 2020, next to nothing is known about these two electric models.
