LG Unveiled Revolutionary Paper-like OLED TV That Rolls Into A Box At CES

If you are old enough, you may be able to recall that in the early days of CRT TVs, some of them came with integrated cabinet that has functional doors (either swing or sliding type). I am not entirely sure what was the rationale behind this TV-in-cabinet (specifically, those with doors), but my best guesses would be, one, to keep children off the TV (because some models actually had lock on them) and two, perhaps to blend with the rest of the home furnishing. Whatever the reasons were, the days of hiding TV behind cabinet was long over, or is it? As it turns out, LG may have inadvertently recreated a similar concept, but with modern OLED display, of course. LUCI To Showcase immers “Immersion-on-Demand” VR With 3,000+ PPI At CES

Up to this point, we have accepted that virtual reality equals to a block of gadget slapped across our eyes, but really, that need not be the case, not if LUCI can help it. Introducing the LUCI immers Immersion-on-Demand VR Headset. OK. Maybe it does not look like one (a headset). It is more like glasses. In fact, LUCI did not specifically said that it is a headset, neither did it say it is a pair of goggles or glasses; it is just Immersion-on-Demand. That is. In a way, a weighty headset makes you remember that you are not as immersive as it should, but with the LUCI immers it is lightweight enough (that’s mere 185g, btw) to make you forget that you have a gadget across your eyes. After years in the making, the much anticipated mixed reality device, Magic Leap One, is finally going to be available soon – in 2018, but only to developers first. I guess at least it is a start.
