Did wondered if there was a CMF Buds 2 when the CMF Buds Pro 2 was launched last July? Well, there was none, until recent months—or April 28, 2025, to be precise. Hmmm, is that how CMF is planning to shake up the industry? Damn, CMF! You are just making me question my memories! Anyhoo, so yeah, there’s a CMF Buds 2 now.

Not only that, but there are also the CMF Buds 2a and CMF Buds 2 Plus. Good lord. This is absolutely a memory twister. Anyhoo, if you find today’s earbuds are too expensive for your financial status and you are afraid to commit to cheaper, questionable brands, well then, CMF has you covered with the new CMF Buds 2 Plus, Buds 2a, and Buds 2 TWS.
This new trio may sound like Pokémon evolutions, but instead of evolving with candy and friendship, these grow by layers of noise cancellation and driver size.
Starting with the CMF Buds 2a, it’s the affordable warrior of the bunch. Armed with 12.4 mm bio-fiber drivers, these guys punch out bass and hold the line with Dirac tuning, spatial audio, and ANC up to 42 dB. Battery life? A respectable 35.5 hours total. You can even chat with ChatGPT—if you’re on a Nothing phone. Which is handy when you need a therapist after trying to keep up with CMF’s product lineup.

Leveling up, the CMF Buds 2 add more than just a digit. With hybrid ANC bumping up to 48 dB, six HD microphones, and IP55 water and dust resistance, these buds mean business. They also swap to 11 mm drivers with Dirac Opteo tuning and give you 55 hours of battery life. Also, the case has a transparent dial because… design. Functionality? Questionable. Style points? Sure.
And at the top of this TWS tower sits the CMF Buds 2 Plus. These are the final boss. 12 mm LCP drivers, LDAC support, adaptive ANC that hits 50 dB, and personalization via Audiodo’s hearing test tech. They go the distance too—up to 61.5 hours—and toss in low-latency gaming (105 ms) plus dual-device pairing.
So yeah, CMF didn’t just add some random earbuds. They added a whole tiered system of budget-friendly choices that somehow don’t feel “budget.” Just don’t ask me to remember which one does what. I’ll need a flowchart. Or a nap.
They are available now. The CMF Buds 2 Plus is the priciest of the trio, commanding a modest US$69, while the CMF Buds 2 and the CMF Buds 2a go for US$59 and US$49, respectively. Wait no. It looks like there is some kind of discount for the latter two. It is US$49 for the CMF Buds 2, and just US$29 the CMF Buds 2a.
