Hypershell Halo Full-Leg Exoskeleton
Hypershell has moved beyond giving hikers a push at the hips. Its new Halo extends powered assistance to the knees, creating a lightweight robotic system that helps with carrying loads, climbing, braking on descents, and softening landings while adapting to the way each wearer moves.

Walking is one of those basic human abilities that technology looked at and decided could use four motors, over 30 sensors, and an AI sidekick. The result is the Hypershell Halo, a full-leg consumer exoskeleton designed to help you hike, climb, squat, run, and negotiate rough terrain while taking some of the load off your lower limbs.

Unlike Hypershell’s hip-focused exoskeletons, Halo powers both hips and knees. Its four joints operate as one coordinated system, providing propulsion while climbing, support under load, braking assistance during descents, and cushioning when feet return to Earth with less grace than intended.

Holding everything together is a continuous carbon-fiber structure running from the hips to the lower legs. Adaptive hip joints permit up to 198° of lateral movement and 167° front to back, while flexible thigh straps redistribute pressure as the wearer changes position.

The hardware is directed by HyperIntuition 2.0, which uses more than 30 sensors and multiple neural networks to interpret movement, terrain, and load. Trained on over 10,000 hours of motion data, it can reportedly anticipate the wearer’s intentions around 200 milliseconds in advance and adjust assistance up to 2,500 times per second. It also learns individual gait, asymmetry, strength, and preferences over time.

Four motors provide up to 1,490W of peak output and support assisted speeds of up to 17 km/h (10.6 mph). Hypershell claims Halo can reduce knee-muscle fatigue during squats by up to 40%.

Despite all that machinery, Halo weighs 2.6 kg (5.7 lb), folds down to under 8 liters, and carries an IP54 rating. Its detachable 370 g (13 oz) PocketVolt battery provides up to 20 km (12.4 miles) of range. Once fitted, the exoskeleton can be put on in around 20 seconds and removed in as little as five.

Halo even includes an AI assistant called Shelly for setup, personalization, and journey planning. Yes, your trousers-adjacent robotics now have someone to talk to.

Hypershell unveiled Halo at IFA 2026, and it is available for pre-order for a cool US$2,299. For that price, you will receive the Hypershell Halo with AeroFlex Shoulder Strap for Halo, a 72 kWh PocketVolt Battery pack, a USB-C charging cable, a 65 W GaN charger, along with a bunch of accessories like long and short power cables, a carrying case, and a Z-shaped wrench.
