If you think this index finger-long RC micro helicopter looks familiar, you are not wrong. Measuring just 8 centimeters (3.14 inches) long, this Kyosho RC micro helicopter called “Mosquito” was originally released between 2012 and 2014 with over 300,000 units sold.
It is now being relaunched under the Kyosho Egg brand. It is not just a relaunch, though. While the new version retains the compact size, it also received some updated features like a barometric sensor for improved altitude control and an auto takeoff/landing function.
The Kyosho Egg RC Micro Helicopter Mosquito [JP] sports a blue body with white stripes and the red Kyosho logo and comes with identification number stickers.
It is powered by a 3.7V 100 mAh lithium-polymer battery, rechargeable via USB in about 60 minutes for 5 minutes of flight. The helicopter can perform various maneuvers, with easy control and two-speed settings, making it suitable for both children and adults.
Priced at 6,578 yen (tax included) [JP] (around US$41), the set includes the helicopter, controller, spare propellers, and a helipad. The Mosquito is now available for purchase. Well, at least it is in Japan anyways.
