Porsche is not letting up in celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first 911 Turbo. This time, it has partnered with German sports gear brand Puma for limited sneaker editions as a tribute to the 911 Turbo. I know what you are thinking. Didn’t the automaker celebrate a 50th anniversary 11 years ago? Well, it did. But this year, or 2025 to be precise, would be the 50 years of the 911 Turbo. Yep. Those business folks! They really know how to “celebrate” 😉
Anyhoo, so yeah, Porsche and Puma have teamed up to honor 50 years of the iconic Porsche 911 Turbo with a limited-edition sneaker series that embodies both heritage and style. At the forefront of this collection are two standout designs: the “Turbo No. 1” and “Turbo 930” sneakers, which pay homage to two classic Porsche models. Limited to just 911 pairs per model, these sneakers blend vintage flair and modern craftsmanship, making them highly coveted pieces for both car enthusiasts and sneakerheads.
The “Turbo No. 1” sneaker draws its inspiration from the Porsche gifted to Louise Piëch on her 70th birthday. Wrapped in a sleek silver metallic finish, it mirrors the car’s exterior, while the interior lining features the signature red and blue tartan pattern found in the original 911 Turbo. The premium full-grain leather adds a luxurious touch, ensuring that these sneakers are not only visually stunning but also comfortable to wear.
On the other side of the spectrum, the “Turbo 930” sneaker channels the spirit of Dr. Ferry Porsche’s 1976 Turbo, with an Oak Green Metallic exterior and a green tartan inner lining reminiscent of the car’s interior. Crafted from nubuck leather, these sneakers offer a softer, more refined texture.
Both models sport dynamic Turbo lettering and a subtle Porsche logo on the exterior, with a tonal 3D-printed Porsche crest adorning the heel. For an added nod to the past, the heel design mimics the whale fin of the Turbo’s iconic rear spoiler, complete with the horizontal red tail light.
But Porsche didn’t stop there. In addition to these two global editions, ten market-specific designs are being released, each limited to 911 pairs. These exclusive editions are tailored to the tastes of selected markets, with colorways inspired by classic Porsche exterior paints from the late ’70s. Whether you’re in Germany, France, or even Taiwan, there’s a unique design waiting for you.
Available from August 29th, these limited sneakers are priced at 169 euros (around US$187). Each pair comes with an extra set of black laces for personalization and is packaged in a sleek black Porsche Puma sports bag.
