I know, right? The world of TWS is flooded with Apple AirPods wannabes. Even Huawei couldn’t dodge the AirPods-lookalike bug. Thankfully, there are brands out there that don’t see Apple as the holy benchmark for design. The Status Pro X is one such TWS. Not only does it ditch the pod-and-stick formula, it also happens to rock stunning audio.

Where most earbuds follow the same old bud-or-stem blueprint, the Pro X shows up with a rectangular body and a rounded section leading to the earbud. It’s refreshingly different, turns heads, and it’s smaller too. Status says the earbuds are 21% smaller and the case is 11% smaller than its predecessor. And that case—chef’s kiss. It’s oozing Bang & Olufsen vibes.
Despite the reduced size, each earbud houses an upgraded 12 mm dynamic driver plus dual Knowles balanced armatures tuned for “stunning clarity to mids and highs.” Your listening experience gets even sweeter with -52 dB active noise canceling, while Ambient Mode lets you tune back into the world when needed.
Other goodies include Optical Wearing Sensor detection, capacitive touch + physical button controls (yes, both), triple beamforming mics with Voiceloom AI, Bluetooth 5.3 with 24-bit/96 kHz playback, LDAC up to 990 kbps, multipoint connectivity, and 8 hours of playback (24 with the case). Toss in IP55 resistance and a customizable app, and you’ve got a beast.
If anyone’s interested, the Status Pro X is up for pre-order at US$325 (U.P. US$390).
