Ehang 216 Autonomous Aerial Vehicle Sets To Ply Austria Skies In 2020

First, it was Dubai and now, Austria. Chinese Ehang Autonomous Aerial Vehicle (AAV) is set to ply the skies of Austria come 2020. The company, along with Austrian FACC aviation company and ProSiebenSat, broke the news last week at a launch event held at Vienna’s Generali Arena. Following the official launch, Ehang will be showing of its airworthy Ehang 216 air taxi at the 4GAMECHANGERS Festival, happening from April 9 to 11 in Vienna. Ehang’s Human-carrying Drone Is Set To Ply Dubai’s Sky This Summer

Ehang 184, the ambitious oversized eight-rotor drone from China introduced at last year’s CES, is reportedly kicking off “regular operations” around Dubai’s sky in July 2017. In fact, according to a report by AP, Ehang 184 has been taking to the skies around Dubai’s Burj Al-Arab skyscraper which, of course, has a helipad for it to land. However, the report did not mention if those flights where with or without people in the craft. I don’t know whether this autonomous aerial vehicle (AAV) will be reserved for the elites, or is it part of the grand plan by UAE’s government for a futuristic city. Whatever it is, Ehang’s milestone is a giant stride for short-range city transportation which, to be honest, has been stagnant for many decades now. Dubbed EHang 184 Autonomous Aerial Vehicle, this supersized drone aims to ease your frustration with ridiculous traffic jams by zipping you across the sky to your destination – all without the need for you to do anything, except for pointing out where you want to go on a tablet found inside the cockpit.
