eBay’s New Service Will Prevent You From Buying Fake Luxury Goods

So, you can’t afford a 300 bucks plus subscription device that could certify the authenticity of designer handbags? Fret not, my friends, head over to eBay and you will probably have a peace of mind that the designer handbag or wallet you are buying is in fact the real deal. There’s a catch though. The sellers you are dealing with will have to subscribe to eBay’s new Authenticate service and obviously, this is not a free service to the sellers. Sellers who wished to have their products certified by eBay and subsequently, slapped with an “Authenticity Verified” label, the product in question will need to be of value of at least $500 and if the seller managed to offload the product to a buyer, he or she will only receive 80 percent of the sale proceed. MB&F’s Octopus-inspired Table Clock Is Really More Akin To A Robotic Spider

MB&F, AKA Maximilian Busser and Friends, has come a long way. It has progressed from making exotic watches to, in recent years, exquisite clocks that were pretty much out of this world. The Octopod is the luxury watch brand’s latest table clock that will leave sci-fi fans drooling all over. Assuming the form of a robotic octopus (hence, Octopod), the Octopod was a co-creation with L’Epée 1839 and features deep sea technology like the bathysphere (that’s a deep sea, spherical submersible, if you don’t already know) inspired by the late eighties sci-fi/horror flick, The Abyss (1989, 20th Century Fox) and it boasts no less than 468 fine-finished components behind the newly developed eight-day movement by L’Epée 1839 that makes it ticks. Impressive. Continue reading MB&F’s Octopus-inspired Table Clock Is Really More Akin To A Robotic Spider

The official words from Brikk landed in our inbox a few hours ago, indicating a selection of luxe iPhone X will be available for your taking. We suspect the iPhone X will be rare device by the virtue of the pricing and the rumored manufacturing issues which may limit the quantity available during the first wave of availability. Brikk Touts Luxe iPhone 8 Devices Even Before Official Announcement

The fate of the so-called iPhone 8 remains unclear. So far, what I have read is contradicting to say the least. One source cited possible delay due to material shortage and another said on contrary to rumor, it will be on time. Hell, no one can even confirm if it will be called iPhone 8 at all. For all you know, it could be just iPhone Edition. However, like before, that won’t stop Brikk from ‘introducing’ the luxury version of the yet-to-be-announced iPhone 8. The tip reached our inbox and I thought it will be interesting to share. In total Brikk plans to offer three levels of luxe iPhone 8: Lux iPhone 8, Lux iPhone 8 Standard and Lux iPhone 8 Deluxe. Dolce & Gabbana Handbag That Looks And Works Like A Stereo Cost Just $12?

Here’s another quirky stuff coming from the Italian luxury fashion label Dolce & Gabbana. It is called Stereo Bag which I initially thought it was a bag that looks like a portable stereo, but as it turns out, it is a handbag that is also a functioning speaker. How that works really boggles my mind. This handbag is made from wood, hand-painted with details of a real stereo. Thanks to the 3D painting technique, the bag looks exceedingly like an actual stereo straight from the 80s until you see it up close or touch it. It features a AUX cable, a 3.5 mm jack with molded cable assembly, inside the bag that would allow you to connect it to your device like a smartphone to play music. Look. Prada Is Selling Paperclip Now And It Costs $185 A Pop

What is it with the fashion industry that designers have to draw inspiration from everyday, and often cheap, items? Perhaps, we are seeing a design apocalypse where ideas are running thin? Whatever it is, we have a feeling it will not stop and the latest to fall into this cheap-turn-opulent design fad is this giant-ass paperclip from Prada and arguably the most expensive paperclip in the world. There’s no official record for it, but seriously, at $185 a pop, it got to be the priciest paperclip ever. However, it is not quite the paperclip you have imagined. Continue reading Look. Gucci’s $1,250 Dirty White Sneakers: Has Fashion Really Gone Bonkers?

Fashion is both a beautiful and strange subject. It is also as brilliant as it is impatience. Take for example, we love the distressed look jeans, but obviously, we can’t wait five decades for them to be as worn as we may have loved. Neither would we want to slog in a mine hundreds of feet below ground to get them to be worn and torn, and so, the brilliant minds in the fashion industry gave us pre-worn, and even hole-ridden denim, so we can get the look right out-of-the-box. Brilliant? Possibly. But this desire to accelerate natural process can, well, get out of hand sometimes and transcend to the realm of craziness. Like, remember, the muddied jeans?
