The ABCs of Metallica Children Book

Heavy metal band Metallica’s songs are not exactly children-orientated and yet, we are finding ourselves reading about this: The ABCs of Metallica children book. As crazy as it may sound, The ABCs of Metallica is real. It is a 48-page hardcover children book, aimed at kids of Grade 1-2 (i.e. ages 6-8), published by Permuted Press. The book is co-authored by the band with Howie Abrams and illustrated by Michael “Kaves” McLeer. It will arrive in November 26, 2019. Here’s what you can expect:

“Featuring hard-rocking rhymes and bold illustrations, The ABCs of Metallica looks back at the remarkable history of one of rock ‘n’ roll’s most celebrated groups. Each letter of the alphabet highlights a significant moment along the band’s journey, from their humble Garage Days, to their numerous classic albums such as …And Justice for All and Master of Puppets, to biographical information on the band members themselves.”

Clearly, Metallica’s songs are suited for adolescents. Remember how Enter Sandman managed to rekindle your nightmare? Yeah. And who can forget how apt is For Whom The Bell Tolls? No one. Not even the kids. Jokes aside, it is a rather odd move by the band, but I guess with aging fans, you ought to recruit new and younger followers, don’t they? OK. That’s a joke too.
