Good news, fans of original Star Wars trilogy that started it all. The re-release of classic Kenner Star Wars action figures announced by Hasbro back at the Toy Fair 2019 is now available to pre-order. The collection, part of a new Retro Collection line, comprises of the six 3.75″ figures that replicate the original toy released by Kenner in 1978. While the original figures probably cost an arm or a leg, or both, these re-release won’t.
The set, designated “Wave 1”, includes Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, a Stormtrooper, and Han Solo, cost just $63.99. Basically, the key characters from the original trilogy that made the story. If you thought this collection looks familiar, well, that’s probably because they were being sold exclusively at Target in early part of 2019, but they were sold out in a jiffy.
I guess you can say this is the second chance for super fans of Star Wars to grab them. While you are at it, you may be interested in another once Target-exclusive Vintage Collection Han Solo in Stormtrooper disguise figure. It is also available to order separately for $13.99 a pop. The Star Wars Retro Collection Action Figures Wave 1 is expected to drop in August 2019, while the Han Solo (Stormtrooper) figure will ship in September 2019.
If you are down for more 3.75-inch Star Wars figures, you may also be interested in the Star Wars Special Edition Retro Prototype Style 3.75” Multi-colored Darth Vader Action Figure which debuted at SDCC. I would say it is a must have for any Darth Vader fans. It sells for $12.99 at Target online. However, it appeared to be out-of-stock and so, if you are keen, you may have to check with the physical stores.
