DJI Mini 5 Pro Imaging Drone

If there is one thing DJI loves doing, it is cramming “world’s firsts” into flying machines. And this time, the long-awaited successor of the DJI Mini 4 Pro, the DJI Mini 5 Pro, has scored a big one: it is the world’s first mini camera drone with a 1-inch sensor (!). Yup, a whole inch of CMOS in something that weighs less than a baguette.

That’s not all. This tiny terror also boasts the world’s first Nightscape Omnidirectional Sensing System, meaning it can actually see and avoid stuff in the dark instead of kamikaze-ing into lamp posts. The Mini 5 Pro can find its way home even without GPS, retracing its steps like a balcony-launched Roomba, and when satellites are in play, its dual-band GNSS locks on like a pro for rock-solid positioning.

Imaging-wise, you’re looking at a 50 MP sensor that shoots 4K at 60 fps HDR, with up to 14 stops of dynamic range. Slow-mo addicts can kick it up to 4K at 120 fps, while color nerds get 10-bit video with H.265 encoding, plus D-Log M and HLG. The new 48 mm Med-Tele mode makes subjects pop with more depth, so your dog at the park will look like a cinematic masterpiece.

The gimbal rotates a whopping 225°, giving you true vertical shooting straight out of the box. Together with the upgraded ActiveTrack 360°, it makes it perfect for skyscrapers, waterfalls, or that TikTok reel you’ll swear wasn’t staged. Flight time stretches up to 36 minutes, which is pretty impressive.

The DJI Mini 5 Pro starts at €799, Fly More Combos at €999, and €1129.
