Not only are phones getting thinner. Baseus thought power banks should too—and rightly so. Some modern smartphones, especially Android models, now pack batteries that rival power banks. Couple that with increasingly power-efficient hardware, and a power bank has become more of a just-in-case accessory than an everyday necessity. So, there’s really no need for monster capacity anymore.
Baseus certainly seems to think so because it has just unveiled the thinnest addition to the PicoGo Series: the Baseus PicoGo Air Power Bank.
The PicoGo Air is not just about looking impossibly thin. It also has the tech to back it up. Beneath its 6.9 mm profile are next-generation semi-solid-state battery cells wrapped in an aluminum alloy body, topped off with a fire-resistant glass-fiber charging surface.
Speaking of fire resistance, the Baseus PicoGo Air also places a strong emphasis on thermal management—one of the root causes of batteries going up in flames—and safety in general. It boasts a cooling setup that combines graphene, aerogel insulation, and intelligent temperature control, bolstered by adaptive monitoring that checks the temperature up to 18,000 times per hour to ensure safe operation.
If that’s not enough peace of mind, it has built-in NFC battery visibility to further give users quick access to live diagnostics, such as temperature, cycle count, and battery health, through the Baseus app. Why NFC? Baseus did not say, but I think the reason is obvious: there’s no need for wireless connectivity for it to be app-enabled. But I could be wrong.
