CaDA Master 1:8 Audi RS6 Avant C61515W
CaDA recreates the Audi RS6 Avant as a 60.3 cm-long, 4,663-piece collector model with functional steering, opening panels, a detailed V8 engine, and no stickers.

CaDA is giving LEGO a run for its money. It may be fairly new to the international market, but man, DOUBLEE Ltd.’s building-block brand wasted no time turning out flagship 1:8-scale sets. Where LEGO releases a 1:8-scale supercar once every two years, CaDA does it whenever it sees fit.

The latest to join its flagship garage—which already includes heavyweights like the Mercedes-AMG GT3, Alpine A525 Formula 1 car, and Mercedes-AMG ONE—is the CaDA Master 1:8 Audi RS6 Avant C61515W. Those are in addition to the non-Masters 1:8 scale sets.

Do note that the Master series is not exclusively a garage for supercars and hypercars. It is CaDA’s flagship line, roughly comparable to LEGO’s adult-oriented collector sets, and also contains farming equipment, a NASA Space Shuttle, tanks—yes, really—and other display-worthy subjects.

Anyhoo, back to the star of the article. CaDA uses a grand total of 4,663 pieces to recreate the Audi RS6 Avant C8 as a Technic-style model with impressive accuracy and an almost unreasonable amount of detail. The set was designed by Dutch MOC builder Thijs de Boer, better known as T-Lego, whose name is credited directly on the packaging. The officially licensed build measures 60.3 cm long, 25.9 cm wide, and 16.8 cm tall (23.7 x 10.2 x 6.6 inches), so clear some serious shelf space before beginning construction.

The unmistakable long-roof bodywork is joined by functional steering, opening doors, an opening hood, and a detailed replica of the twin-turbocharged V8 lurking beneath it. You cannot start the engine or use the cargo area for groceries, but those seem like reasonable compromises when the car does not require insurance.

As before, wherever there are graphics, they are printed directly on the elements. There are no stickers to apply crookedly and then stare at with regret for the remainder of the model’s existence.

The CaDA Master 1:8 Audi RS6 Avant C61515W is available for US$349. That is not pocket change, but it remains considerably cheaper than buying an actual RS6 Avant, and to some extent, more affordable than LEGO flagships of recent years.
