The Rowbike lets you cruise the dry land by rowing actions

i can’t remember when was the last time i hit the gym but as i recall, among the sea of exercise equipment, the rower was my favorite. mainly because it has a video screen upfront that shows your ‘boat’ against a competitor that kept my eyes occupied but that’s where the thrill ends. at the end of the day, i’d still be stuck in an air-conditioned room with bunch of folks smelling of sweat. alternative to the gym rower, is to hit the water for some real-deal rowing but that’s quite hassle, unless you happen to live next to a lake. for urban folks, The Rowbike might be the answer to monotonous rowing in the gym and the real deal rowing experience. no, Lunartic is not a person gone nuts. it is probably the first bicycle that has a working hubless wheel. Lunartic is a project from Loughborough Design School student Luke Douglas. the design combines different tire sizes with belt drive and tubless (and hubless) rear wheel. according to its designer, putting the moving parts within the rear wheel space creates “a product that is the size of a small wheel bicycle but with the comfort and performance of one with a large wheel.” Continue reading Lunartic belt-drive bicycle makes hubless wheel a reality

a picture is worth a thousand words. case in the point: the Fliege – Supergiro gyrocopter featured here. one look, you will known it is personal and it is a helicopter of sort. need we say more? designer Daniel Kocyba cited his inspirations from sports cars and motorcycles. the pilot’s seat form the main part of the aluminum frame while information (presumably, the aircraft essential info) will be projected to the pilot’s helmet. yes, the pilot will have to wear a helmet. overall, it is a gorgeous aircraft but i got a hunch that it will remain as a concept. the blades up there does look a little too threatening to our heads. don’t it? the concept of the Dutch Superbus is not a new news but this is a working prototype after three years and $18 million pumped in, therefore it is one step closer to realizing this system. or is it not? designed by Netherlands’ first astronaut Wubbo Ockels, the Superbus 50 feet length and low five and half feet height makes it look more like a super stretch limousine. in short, it looks nothing like a bus. also for the fact that it has sixteen doors for 23 passengers to get in and out, and it does allow any standing (due to its height and the speed it is capable of) like any conventional buses. Japanese auto makers have been quite low-key in the sports car segment (with the exception of LF-A). as far as Toyota is concerned, we have not seen one (sports car) that has the ‘wow’ factor since the last Toyota Supra Mark IV. unveiled earlier last month at the Geneva Motor Show, was exactly what the auto industry need: the Toyota FT-86 II Concept, a sports car that will have any boy racer’s hearts flutter with excitement. what the public has seen was sort of a ‘preview’ of the new rear-wheel driven sports car that’s “due to enter production in 2012.” Continue reading Toyota FT-86 II Concept get some serious glam studio shots
