Vehicles being used to guide commercial airliners around airport before and after takeoff and landing are just about as boring as a vehicle can get. Well, it seems not to be the case over at Aeroporto Marconi di Bologna in Bologna, Italy. The airport actually has a Lamborghini Huracán to do the job. Just to be clear, the Lamborghini Huracán here is a Follow Me car, NOT a Pushback.
A Pushback, btw, is a vehicle that moves the gigantic aircraft from/to the Passenger Boarding Bridge, but it will be super cool if it can do that. In what could be the most lavish of all Follow Me car, the Lamborghini Huracán gets a designed-by-Centro Stile Lamborghini livery featuring the all-important airport name, race-inspired checkered graphics and the words “FOLLOW ME” prominently displayed on ether sides. And oh, it also has the requisite light bar. Pretty snazzy, eh?
But why Aeroporto Marconi di Bologna? I don’t know. Perhaps the fact that Lamborghini HQ is located not far (26+ kilometers, or 16-ish miles) away from the airport, in Sant’Agata Bolognese. Possibly. In any case, the Italian supercar maker also has a display space where it now has a Lamborghini Urus and a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ on display – just in case you decided to drive away a supercar when you are visiting Italy or something like that. I guess airlines’ pilots will never miss this eye-catching Follow Me car when they are at Aeroporto Marconi di Bologna.
