The BOOX Note Air6 C Color ePaper Notebook sounds great for reading documents and taking notes. But perhaps those subdued colors aren’t for you when your working day also needs a little Netflix and chill. During lunch, of course. For that, Chuwi’s MiniBook X U300 offers a compact screen with rather more enthusiasm for moving pictures.
It is a proper Windows laptop, just one that weighs 920 g (2.03 pounds) and carries a 10.51-inch touchscreen. Small enough for a modest bag, without making you negotiate with a mobile app when you need desktop software. It’s kind of like the netbook days all over again.
The screen is a 1920 × 1200 IPS panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 100% sRGB coverage, and 300-nit brightness. A 360-degree hinge lets you fold it into tablet, tent, or stand mode. Get the keyboard out of the way for a movie, then unfold it when someone asks how the spreadsheet is coming along.
Inside is Intel’s U300 processor, combining one performance core with four efficiency cores for five cores and six threads, reaching up to 4.4 GHz. It won’t set any processing speed records, but for documents, browsing, and the occasional episode you definitely watched during lunch, this entry-level chip should earn its keep without getting too thirsty for power.
It is paired with 16 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, a 512 GB NVMe SSD, and integrated Intel UHD graphics with 48 execution units. Chuwi positions it as a step up from its N100 and N150 versions, with an active fan, copper fins, and a heat pipe handling cooling.
You also get an aluminum-alloy unibody, a backlit keyboard, and two full-featured USB-C ports supporting charging, display output, and data. Charging is rated at 36 W, while Windows 11 Pro comes preinstalled.
The MiniBook X U300 gives you the laptop, keyboard, and folding-screen arrangement in one package, which is kind of cool if you need to get work done on the go or indulge in some entertainment in between without weighing you down.
If you are down, this little guy can be yours at a discounted price of US$469 (U.P. US$469), available from store.chuwi.com.
