DRESS x Hatsune Miku Fishing Gear Collection
Hatsune Miku has officially entered the fishing world thanks to a wild new collaboration between DRESS and Crypton Future Media featuring glowing fishing rods, illuminated reels, squid jigs, lures, and other field-ready gear.

Hatsune Miku, the virtual celebrity, has transcended the hologram. Like a true spirit, she’s everywhere. In addition to regular concerts (yes, really), Crypton has lent her image to a digital music player, gaming gear, and now even fishing gear—thanks to a collaboration between DRESS and Crypton Future Media.

Well, it looks like it has happened. We are now living in an era where you can go fishing with your oshi. Time to hit the local lakes to catch some fish for your virtual lady at home… oh, wait. You cannot do that anymore. What a bummer.

Japanese fishing and outdoor gear brand DRESS has teamed up with Hatsune Miku for what the company claims is the first-ever collaboration between a fishing gear specialist brand and the world-famous virtual singer. But before you dismiss this as another “slap-an-anime-character-on-it” merchandise drop, DRESS insists these are actual field-ready fishing gear designed for real anglers.

And to make sure the collaboration does not look half-hearted, the project features brand-new artwork by popular illustrator Sco_ttie, whose follower count on social media has crossed 940,000. The newly drawn Miku appears across the entire collection, blending the virtual idol’s aesthetic with actual fishing equipment in ways that feel surprisingly cohesive.

The lineup consists of 12 items, and yes, some of them glow—literally.

Leading the charge are the “glowing” Miku reel and fishing rod. The reel lights up when you turn the handle, while the rod itself glows in Hatsune Miku colors, making them especially fitting for night fishing. The rod is designed for a wide variety of fishing styles, too, including sabiki fishing, light casting, hole fishing, and lure fishing.

Meanwhile, squid fishing fans are getting the MikuQ 3.0 squid jig set based on DUEL’s famous Aori-Q egi. The blue glow body is designed to remain highly visible to squid during low-light conditions, which means this thing is not just cute bait—it is functional, cute bait.

The collaboration also includes an R Sardine metal jig set in special Miku colors, a series of collectible metal vibration lures featuring Piapro Characters, an 8-inch aluminum fishing plier, a waterproof backpack, PE fishing line, stickers, T-shirts, can badges, and even an acrylic lure stand for displaying your favorite catches.

One particularly interesting item is the Dorepan metal vibe lure series. There are eight designs in total, including variants featuring Miku, MEIKO, KAITO, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, and Megurine Luka. There is also a rare lure featuring Sco_ttie’s special collaboration illustration of Miku.

What makes this collaboration stand out is that DRESS seems genuinely serious about the fishing side of things. The company repeatedly emphasized that the products were designed around the idea of whether “fishing-loving Hatsune Miku fans” would actually be satisfied using them in real fishing environments like piers and managed fishing ponds.

So yes. This is real. Hatsune Miku fishing gear exists now.

The Hatsune Miku x DRESS collection is scheduled for release in June 2026 and is already available for pre-order through the official DRESS website [JP], Amazon Japan [JP], Rakuten [JP], and Yahoo Shopping [JP]. DRESS also warns that production quantities are limited, which means some items could sell out during the pre-order stage itself.
