The draw of LEGO Formula 1 sets, including the LEGO Speed Champions sets, is that the F1 race cars are based on real race cars from the recent season. So, would fans commit to a fictional team? Judging from the reception of F1: The Movie—which, in dollar-speak, made over US$631 million worldwide at the box office—fans might welcome it with wide-open arms.

Joining the current LEGO Speed Champions F1 race cars on the grid is the fictional APXGP Team Race Car based on F1: The Movie. And if the F1 car from the LEGO Speed Champions APXGP Team Race Car (77252) set itself did not sell itself, then perhaps the two F1 driver minifigure characters from the movie—Sonny Hayes and Joshua Pearce (played by Brad Pitt and Damson Idris)—each with individual helmets featuring their signatures, plus a wig and a wrench (which can also be used to apply stickers and separate bricks) would.
The brick-built race car features a black and gold livery, sponsor stickers, and wider rear tires imprinted with “Pirelli”—as seen in the film. All told, this model packs 268 elements, and when completed, the F1 car toy measures over 1.5 in. (4 cm) high, 8 in. (20 cm) long, and 3 in. (7 cm) wide.
As with the rest of the sets featured here today, the LEGO Speed Champions APXGP Team Race Car (77252) will be available starting January 01, 2026, with a US$27.99 sticker. Yes, it’s a dollar pricier than a “regular” LEGO Speed Champions F1 race car. The books are open for eager fans who want to secure a copy before it hits the wild.
