You know how some people hit their midlife crisis and decide they’re suddenly into extreme sports? Well, that’s basically what happened to the Peugeot 504. Once a classy family car from 1968, it has now been radically reimagined as a Pikes Peak-destroying, wing-covered speed demon—because how else do you tell people it is fast?

Designed by Peugeot Design Lab, the Peugeot 504 Pikes Peak Concept is what happens when someone looks at a classic wagon and thinks, “This needs more downforce.” It takes inspiration from the original 504 Break wagon but adds ultra-wide fender flares, a dual-wing setup big enough to generate its own weather system, and an asymmetrical tire configuration in the drift variant—because straight-line driving is apparently for cowards.
Inside, it keeps things minimalist with a stripped-out interior, but don’t worry, Peugeot didn’t forget style. The seats are upholstered in pink plaid, paying tribute to French rap group 113, because obviously, when you think “hill climb monster,” you think “French hip-hop.” Oh, and did we mention there’s a vinyl turntable integrated into the dashboard? Yes, Peugeot really said, “Who needs a touchscreen when you can spin records at 9,000 feet?”
Peugeot hasn’t confirmed if this beast will ever hit the real world, but between the giant wings, record player, and race-ready absurdity, one thing is clear—this is the most Peugeot thing Peugeot has ever done.
