when mobile phones do more than just voice calls, it became a smartphone. so what happens if a camera does more than just photography? it becomes a smart camera, obviously and which is what the Polaroid SC1630 Smart Camera is. it is a camera that has the look and features that are more akin to a smartphone than a camera, the best part of the whole equation is, it is powered by the trusty Android OS and along with its built-in WiFi, allowing user to access more than 400,000 apps and of course, get connected to your favorite social network sites to share your latest work of art. the SC1630 features a 16.0-megapixels CCD sensor coupled with a 3X optical zoom, a large 3.2-inch touchscreen display, automatic face and smile detection, smart albums, geo-tagging, in camera basic photo editing that includes red-eye removal, resizing and color correction, and 32GB of memory via a microSD card. basically, Polaroid is proposing that a digital camera can do without a computer, where the captured images/videos can be shared directly from the camera. if you ask me, its a dream come through for us who often felt a drag just to hook up the camera to a computer for simple photo editing and uploading them to social network websites. needless to say, such awesome gadget also made its debut at the recent CES 2012. though its availability and pricing are still very much a mystery to us all. click on the above image for large view.
