I am not surprised if you have not heard about the collaboration between German sports equipment/shoemaker Puma and German toy company Playmobil. I tried searching for bits and pieces about it after I picked up the news from @43einhalb but there is hardly any real meat on the news. Anyhoo, so yes, there was a pair of Puma x Playmobil sneakers.
And while toy company collab with sneaker brands aren’t new, this collab between the two German companies is slightly different. It is more collectible, IMHO. This limited drop, dubbed Puma x Playmobil RS 100 Sneakers, features Puma’s iconic RS 100 with an interchangeable heel decoration of a Playmobil figurine’s head.
But the real holy grail of this pair of collab kicks, IMHO, is this: an individually numbered collectible oversized Playmobile figurine manufactured by Leblon Delienne. But this isn’t the first time Puma or any sneakers maker has released a pair of kicks with a collectible figure; earlier this year, there was the PUMA SUEDE VTG “GODZILLA” & SECRET BASE which comes with a collectible Godzilla figure.
The Playmobil figurine is presented in a minimalist matte white finish with a Puma branding across its chest. The clean, matte white finish is contrasted by a pair of shiny gold kicks.
As for the shoes, they are supplied with three different colors of interchangeable heel decor pieces. Another cool part of this collaborative shoe is it comes packaged in a box that resembles the Playmobil toy set. Very, very cool.
The Puma x Playmobil RS 100 Sneakers dropped on April 06, 2024, for €340 (about US$366). This must have sold out at this point. But don’t take our word for it. You can check out the list of stores that are supposed to be selling the sneakers if they still have them. In any case, we did come across someone selling it on StockX for US$449.
