Active noise-cancellation, or ANC, is the best thing to ever happen to earbuds. It used to be a premium feature, but thanks to brands like Soundpeats, TaoTronics and more recently, Anker Innovations Soundcore, it has become more affordable.
Speaking of Soundcore and affordability, the Anker Innovations’ premium audio brand has a new ANC TWS, the Liberty Air 2 Pro. Featuring advanced ANC, transparently and PureNote driver technology. The latter is said to use “ten hardened nano layers to make up the 11 mm driver in each earbud” which results in “accurate sound and clarity at all frequencies.”
This pair of TWS earbuds also promised to deliver music as intended by the artists” both with and without ANC. Soundcore Liberty 2 Air Pro has three noise cancellation modes: Transport that cancels out low frequency noises from airplanes, trains or city buses, a wider bandwidth Outdoor mode for dealing with street noise, and Indoor mode that block out voices when in places like office or cafe.
There’s actually a fourth mode, Transparency mode, that has two settings. Mode 1 that enhance all ambient sounds for awareness and Mode 2 that enacts voices while suppressing background noise.
The Soundcore Liberty 2 Air Pro has a 7-hour battery life (6 with ANC on). The Qi wireless charging case offers offers further 26 hours or 21 hours with ANC on. There’s a USB-C if you prefer to go the wired charging route. And finally, there’s Anker Fast Charging which will get you 2 hours of use with just 10 minutes of charging.
Other notables include 6-mic uplink noise reduction for clear calls, customizable user touch controls, voice assistant compatible (with Siri at launch), Bluetooth 5.0, and IPX4 dust and water resistance.
